Thank you very much for your interest in participating to the collaborative project between the Platelet Physiology and the Platelet Immunology SSCs aiming to generate an international expert consensus on methods for platelet function testing (PFT) in patients with low platelet counts. We are glad that you are 75 to have stated expertise in using aggregometry for this purpose.
In order to go further with this project, please fill the following form encompassing issues regarding pre-analytical, analytical, post-analytical and performance aspects of platelet aggregometry in patients with low platelet counts. More than one answer can be selected for each item. If you have additional specific items that you would like to include, you can report them in the last bullet point of the form. If you wish to comment on your specific answers, it can be done in the “Other/comments” box in each question.
Timeline
Survey: The forms will be open until October 7, 2022.
Focus groups: Areas of disagreement or uncertainty will form the bases for focus group discussions. These will be held virtually (web-based conferencing) in May 2022. Members for focus group discussions will be randomly selected among survey participants, taking into account years and areas of expertise (clinical vs research laboratory), as well as geographical location.
Draft manuscript: Results from this survey and the focus groups will be summarized in an SSC communication draft (ideally June 2022). The draft will be sent to all participants of the survey for review before publication.
Authorship: The PIs and SSC Chairs will be named authors of this output. All contributions to the survey, focus group and draft revisions will be included in group authorship, as per JTH policies.
We look forward to working with you and value your input into this project.
PIs: Georges Jourdi, Sofia Ramström and Ruchika Sharma
