  • Management of Neonatal catheter-associated venous thrombosis (Neo CA-VTE): An international survey

We are conducting an international survey as part of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis Scientific Sub-committee (ISTH SSC), Neonatal Thrombosis working party.

This survey aims to 1) assess global practices in the management of neonatal catheter associated venous thromboembolism (Neo CA-VTE) and 2) understand which practitioners are involved in the diagnosis and treatment of neonatal thrombosis. The survey responses will help us in developing a prospective data collection registry on neonatal thrombosis and guidance for management of Neo CA-VTE.

This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Taking part in the survey is voluntary and all responses will be kept confidential. This survey was reviewed and given exempt status by the IRB at Lurie Childrens Hospital, Northwestern university, Chicago. Please contact Rukhmi Bhat, MD, MS at rbhat@luriechildrens.org with questions or comments.

For the purposes of this survey, neonates are defined as term (37-40 weeks gestation) and preterm (< 37 weeks gestational age) babies, up to a corrected gestational age of 44 weeks. Please answer the following questions pertaining to Neo CA-VTE to the best of your ability.
