Greetings! Content expertise is needed from advisors for an AHA Science to Science Meeting around the strategies and priorities in cardiovascular treatment to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with atrial fibrillation.
This Science to Science Meeting is the opportunity to open a multi-disciplinary dialogue of discussion which will:
1. Increase awareness for strategic priorities in Cardiovascular care.
2. Open a dialogue on the use of Randomized Clinical Trials (RCT) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) in driving clinician treatment decisions.
3. Increase understanding of the process to translate science into patient care.
The time commitment needed will be a 2 hour virtual meeting on Zoom on:
Tuesday, July 18, 2023: 2:00-4:00 pm EST
Experience Needed:
1. Recognized content expertise/leadership at organizational/society level
2. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to embargoed requirements of non-disclosure.
3. In order to comply with our AHA disclosure and ethical standards as well as to assure volunteer experts are not placed in any untoward situation:
a disclosure of all current relationships with industry is required, and a signed Confidentiality /Nondisclosure Agreement may be requested for participation.
The scope of the assignment falls under three points:
1. Discussion around Direct Oral Anti Coagulation (DOAC) use
2. Discussion around the strategy behind the guideline update process
3. Discussion around the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) on cardiovascular patient care
