This subcommittee is focused on supporting awareness of and research into the complex hemostatic changes in patients with liver diseases and the associated bleeding or thrombotic complications. It incorporates internists, hematologists, hepatologists, laboratory scientists and is addressed to a large spectrum of specialists.

Mandate
- To better understand how to prevent or treat bleeding and thrombosis in patients with liver diseases.
- To continue and expand on educational activities specifically aimed at communicating important changes in clinical management of patients, including approaches to thromboprophylaxis.
- To generate guidance documents, provide ISTH-supported educational programs and initiate ISTH-led international registries associated with hemostatic management of patients with liver diseases.
