SSC Subcommittee on Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Therapies

This subcommittee focuses on the laboratory and clinical use of antithrombotic drugs. It brings together internists, hematologists, cardiologists, and laboratory scientists to advance research and practice in the field.

Mandate

  • To develop laboratory standards, methodologies, and nomenclature as needed.
  • To facilitate international collaborations to design and conduct laboratory and clinical research.
  • To organize and support collaborative studies that address identified needs.
  • To address practical challenges faced by researchers and clinicians in antithrombotic therapies.
  • To generate, publish, and disseminate reports, guidelines, and recommendations based on these activities.
  • To facilitate discussions and foster critical review of the existing best evidence for related topics, to identify key areas of knowledge gap, and to promote collaborative original research in areas of high-priority knowledge gaps.
