This Subcommittee is focused on research related to vascular biology and related (immuno)-thrombotic disorders, through the identification and standardization of assays allowing for their basic and translational analysis with goals of promoting development in future clinical applications.
These topics are: 1) Endothelial cells (including circulating endothelial cells and endothelial colony forming cells (CECs and ECFCs); 2) Leukocytes (including neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), monocyte tissue factor (TF), and related platelet interactions); and 3) Extracellular vesicles (EVs) (derived from the above listed cells, including TF-positive EVs).
This SSC integrates vascular biologists, hematologists, immunologists, laboratory scientists, clinicians, and industry specialists, and is a forum of exchange with other Subcommittees (including Platelet Physiology and Biorheology) and other Societies (such as ISEV).
